Please find the recording of this panel here

The final panel will take place in the form of an interactive conversation between the panelists, so without prepared talks or presentations. To start the conversation, we will shortly summarize some main findings from the three regional panels on social, economic and political effects of the pandemic.

The final panel will tackle these central questions:

  • What are similarities and differences with regard to social and economic consequences in the different (world) regions or countries? Are there general consequences that affect all world regions in a similar way? What was different and why?
  • What were reactions on the pandemic with regard to social and economic measures? Top down: How did the governments react? Please refer to good and bad practices. Bottom up: Was there bottom-up organizing? How have people, local groups etc. reacted?
  • What can we learn from that? What strategies are necessary to mitigate the social, economic and political consequences of the pandemic? What can we learn from this crisis for the future?
