We come into contact with gold on a daily basis, and in the development environment, the circumstances of its production and processing are strongly embedded in our consciousness. But in everyday life, we rarely talk about the long way gold has to travel from the earth to our smartphones or around our necks.
In this interactive workshop, a basis for distribution and discussion of the topic of gold is to be developed, in order to be able to deal with this in a way that is easy to understand with people who have not yet accumulated knowledge in this area and who do not yet have a mindful approach to resources (pupils, students, youth groups, …).
The following questions will be addressed:
- Under which conditions is gold mined?
- What effects does gold mining have on people and the environment?
- What can each individual contribute to more justice, fairness and sustainability in this area?
This workshop is especially for all those who see themselves as multipliers and consider it important to look at the topic of gold not only from the shiny side.
