Radwa Khaled Ibrahim is a consultant for critical aid at the aid and human rights organization medico international as well as a research associate and lecturer focusing on the Global South with a special emphasis on gender relations. Politically socialized in the Egyptian revolution (2011), she is driven by the question of how global political conditions can be structured in such a way that a good life is possible for everyone and everything. She approaches this with an analytical perspective that is anchored in critical development theories, (geo)politics from below and transnational feminist perspectives on world politics.
At the interface between critical transnational civil society, activism and science, she has approached various topics through projects, including the connection between art, revolution, and transformation (graffiti documentary and documentary film Kairos Keller as well as analytical classification through scientific publications: Egypt-Germany 2013-17); or, in recent years, the (im)possibility of a feminist foreign and development policy in conjunction with actors from Jerusalem, Sudan and Germany, among others (publications, lectures
and a series of events between civil society, academia and grassroots activism Equality-Militarization-Feminism? Feminisms in times of war 2023-2024); decolonial perspectives on the consequences of the Russia-Ukraine war (specialist and media publications 2022); or how a decolonization of aid can lead to planetary solidarity (networking project in and between Indonesian and German critical civil society. Accompanied by the transnational event series: Decolonizing Aid: planetary Solidarity beyond Aid: Indonesia- Germany 2021-2023).
During the increasing serious global shifts against the backdrop of the polycrisis, Radwa intervenes through critical commentary and/or analysis either via her page on the medico blog or in print and audio media such as the daily newspaper TAZ on current events. In 2025, her commentaries focused mainly on the war in Gaza, the protests in Kenya, and the political interpretation of the de facto abolition of USAID.
Radwa Khaled-Ibrahim will lead a workshop on „Feminist decolonial solidarity in development cooperation and international cooperation“ on Saturday from 2:00-3:30pm and will speak at the closing plenary „Peace and conflict management (“Women, peace & security”) on Sunday from 9:15-10:45am.
