Stephan Klingebiel heads the research program “Inter- and transnational cooperation” at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) – formerly: German Development Institute (DIE) – in Bonn. From 2019 to June 2021, he headed the UNDP Global Policy Center in Seoul, South Korea.
Over the years, Klingebiel has lectured at universities in Turin, Seoul, Marburg and Bonn. He works and researches on aid effectiveness and political economy of aid, international cooperation and global public goods, nexus of security and development, and governance – with a regional focus on Africa and East Asia.
Stephan Klingebiel will give a keynote talk on “Democracy, authoritarianism and the future of development policy” on Saturday, November 22nd from 9:15 to 10:30 am.
