Ulrich Branddeutsch

Ulrich Brand is Professor for International Politics at the University of Vienna. His research focuses on the connection between globalisation and crises, environmental, climate and resource policy as well as various aspects of social transformations. As head of the Research Network Latin America, he has extensive knowledge of this region.

With „The Imperial Mode of Living – Everyday Life and the Ecological Crisis of Capitalism„, Brand, together with Markus Wissen, has presented a book whose analysis of the connection between social and ecological inequality has shaped the debates on development policy in recent years.

Ulrich Brand will comment on the keynote by Victoria Scheyer (Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, WILPF) on „Embattled statehood and peacebuilding. Approaches to Reducing Global Imbalance“ on Saturday, 12 November 2022 at 9:30 am.
